O2 xda ignito rom update

Message 1 of All forum topics Previous Topic Next Topic. Phoned O2 today to see if i could order the Ignito. She said they had none in stock and i would i consider switching to simplicity? I think not! I then asked when they would be available to order she then said try ringing once a week but recommended i phoned up after 11 AM on Aug 19th! I really dont know what O2 are playing at as they obviously have the information but dont want to sell the phone to us, the only reason i can think of is the that sodding iphone!

Maybe they have a target amount of sales to fulfill before they will release the better phone. In that case, it would suggest to me that the new iphone is not as big a success as the they thought hence pushing all the dates back. Intresting, why didnt you go with the simplicity? Im totally in agreement with you regarding the iPhone, the official reason for the delay is to patch up the ROM an fix the bugs, which, if true would be a great help, but if the ROM isnt any different to the original ROM then its all BS and unfortunatly that is exactly what im expecting, O2 paid a fortune for iPhone they wont waste it and it seems they are giving the rest of us the two fingers, this is what we get for nearly 10 years of loyalty.

It'll be intresting if they pull this post as my last one got yanked. Regarding Diamond battery, i have heard that its having serious issues with extened batteries, ie the GPS stops working, ive also heard that it will take several cycles of change and discharge before it works correctly, im actually thinking of waiting for the Pro, ive waited this long so whats a few more weeks gonna matter, just hope it can last longer than 2 hours with GPS turned on.

Message 61 of Aswell as ringing O2 CS earlier I also e-mailed. Heres the reply: Hello Mr. If there's anything else we can do for you, please reply to this email. Message 62 of Neither of these seems possible with the Xda - in both cases you have to get the stylus out and find the appropriate application. Another example of this 'in your face' operating system is the effect of the volume control while watching video. Volume is controlled by a couple of buttons on the side of the device.

However whenever you change the volume the system throws up a 'system volume' screen so you can't see the video. Touch FLO is an alternative software navigation technique that's been installed on the Xda , appearing as the top-level interface. You return here when you press the 'home' button and it's intended purpose is to allow you to scoll left to right through a list of the devices most common functions.

I believe the model is inspired by the CoverFlow model of the iPod that allows you to flick through albums. Once I'd read the manual for Touch FLO it made a lot of sense, and is generally a much easier way of using the Xda than resorting to the Windows Start menu.

The gestures to move between activities still need to be fairly precise and I found I missed a lot poking the screen with stubby fingers. As with just about any portable device these days the Xda allows you to take your media files with you on your travels. In this case the player is a separate application - Windows Media Player.

Many hand-held devices will automatically locate audio and video files copied to a machine and build these into a single library regardless of where they are in the system. This is not the case with Windows Mobile. Having copied a number of music tracks onto the Xda they steadfastly refused to appear in the library.

The only way I could play the tracks was to use the file manager to find and open the file. On the good side - once you'd given the media player a file, playback was very good. The remote control is great for leaving the phone in your pocket, and having a standard 3.

MPEG4 at x played back sound but no video. WMV at greater than x worked somewhat however the frame rate was very poor. If you have higher resolution video you're advised to recode down to something more suitable! It's good to see a Windows Mobile phone come in at a much more reasonable size and weight. The hardware is beautiful - very sleek and feels great. The touch -interface is OK although takes some getting used to. The interface is not on a par with Apple, either responsiveness or intuitive aspects.

Windows lets the device down a little with it's insistence of popping up everytime you try and do anything just to let you know it's still there and also in enforcing the view that everything is an application. The distinction between many mobile devices between operating system and application is intentionally blurred in order to improve usability. PDA Motorola Repair. Top 3 repairs.
